Our eventual destination that day was William Creek. It's in the middle of nowhere and claims to be the smallest town in Australia with a population of between 9-12 people. Again there is a dirt stip for us to land on, and a short walk to the main building (hotel, restaurant, shop, petrol station, campsite, etc...). You used to be able to taxi right-up outside the hotel (or still can if you are sneeky), but we had to make do with parking-up about 100m away!
